Cape Meares is a census-designated place (CDP) and unincorporated community in Tillamook County, Oregon, United States. The population was 110 at the 2000 census. The community of Cape Meares is named after the natural feature Cape Meares, which in turn was named after John Meares, a British explorer. According to ''Oregon Geographic Names'', Cape Meares briefly had its own post office, from 1953-1954. ==Geography== According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of , of which, of it is land and of it (8.39%) is water. The area is located above sea-level.〔
